Report Formats

Overview

Here's some points to keep in mind regarding report formats:

  • Most reports give you the option of generating the report in the HTML, TEXT or EXCEL format.
  • If no option buttons are displayed, then a report's default format is HTML.
  • The HTML format provides detail-line and section totals, which are not available in the other formats.
  • The default sort for most reports is by Unit ID and grouped by property (if corporate report).

HTML Format

HTML reports have the following features:

  • The detail-line and section totals are calculated in rows, columns, or both.
  • The selected filters are written at the bottom of the report.
  • Any additional currencies will be totalled and listed above the filter information at the bottom of the report.
  • Report is displayed in browser and can be printed from the browser or saved as an HTML file.

TEXT Format

TEXT reports have the following features:

  • Text reports do not have detail-line or section totals.
  • The selected filters are not written on the report.
  • A text report is formatted as a CSV file (comma separated values).
  • Save the report from the browser as a (.txt) file and then re-name the file extension to (.csv) if you wish to load into excel.
Note  Note:   If you save the report as a (.csv) file from the browser, then it will treat it as an HTML file and place tags at the beginning and the end of the report.

EXCEL Format

EXCEL reports have the following features:

  • Excel reports do not have detail-line or section totals.
  • The selected filters are not written on the report.
  • The excel report is generated when you click the submit button, and can be "saved as" an (.xls) file.
  • The excel report data can be totalled and manipulated from within the the excel program.
